Mama Nkechi came close and hugged me, she said you are indeed a son to me, and Judith is a Daughter to me, I did what every mother would do for her children so you two are always welcome.

By then my Mum had already stood up to place water on the Gas. I whispered into Judith’s ear “we’ll get through together” and then I stood up and went into the room to rest my head I had no work neither do I have anywhere to go.

I immediately called my dad to seek fatherly counsel, I could swear to the heavens that I needed a manly advice, I’ve been surrounded by women and I don’t if my Dad would have a different approach to the matter.

My Dad did not pick on the first and second calls so I thought maybe he is busy, I decided to wait for a while. I fell asleep waiting for time to run, I felt a tap on my should “wake up, my son wake up!” obviously it was my mum, “ what’s wrong mum?” I asked scratching my eyes, I was still sleepy. She was pointing at my phone, yeah it was my dad, I have already had four (4) missed calls.

I quickly called him back, he picked up almost immediately but the background was mad noisy.

Me: “Hello Dad, wetin dey happen? Why the background dey jam-like say, Dj cuppy dey do party there”

Dad “Na your matter we dey settle now, one man wey belle big pass my own, come with down boys say you carry him wife and pikin run”.

Gbas Gbos, this thing is getting serious oh, like how would someone that matured be doing something this childish.

Dad: “Oboy, you still dey with me? How you dey reason the matter, make we die am or follow up”

I could feel the rage in my Dad’s voice like Street, you know when Efe from BBN was Shouting WARRI WARRI! Yeah, exactly that was how my Dad’s voice was beginning to sound.

Me: “dad calm down, I think I have a plan, it’s time to involve big bro”

Dad: “you better be fast”.

beep beep, the call ended, the call didn’t go as expected, but now I was feeling pain, anger, and hatred at the same time.

I dialed my elder brother’s number immediately, iron case deserves iron hands.

Bro: “paddiman, how far na, I hear say you don born, this one wey you call me so, shebi I dey safe!”

Me: “Bro small casala come, board, based on the pikin matter, one senior man match boys go house to threaten pman say, I carry him wife and pikin run, like this like this sef, Pman dey Paro Jaga”.

Beep Beep, the call ended, hehehehe I know what was going to happen next, I was just waiting for my phone to ring again.

if there is any slang you don’t understand, write it down in the comment and I’ll explain it to you.
